Issue with "Open Intranet URLS in"

description

This may be an unavoidable side-effect but when the "Open Intranet URLs in" is set to anything other than "None", local .htm and .html files will also open in that browser instead of bringing up the Browser Chooser. Not sure if this is perhaps unavoidable?

The way that BC decides whether a URL is an "intranet URL" is faulty. It looks at the domain portion of the URL and if it contains a period, decides it is not an intranet URL. This is faulty firstly because file:/// urls do not have any domain portion, and secondly because "127.0.0.1" contains periods but should be considered on the intranet. Furthermore I might be in a corporate domain environment where charley.mydom.com is the DNS name for a machine inside my company firewall, hence intranet.

A better way to decide would be to inspect what zone Internet Explorer thinks the URL is in.

I would be happy to see a list of urls that can be assigned a particular browser. That would solve the issue aswell, in a less automated way.

@ivandr: Check the URLs field in the browser options for each entry. That let's you do that.
