When I run Browser Chooser it opens up with EI then a long space and half of the Thubderbird Icon.

How do I get the Options Screen and completely reset the programme.

I am running Windows 7 64bit.

Just found Browser Chooser and it's great!

Solves my long-time annoyance with various programs launching a web browser for some reason (opening Help from the menu, for example, or after installation opening a "welcome!" page!). I usually have dozens of tabs open so if the default browser is not already running, it takes ages to start it, load all the tabs and finally show the page I probably didn't want to see in the first place!

One feature I would like to see in Browser Chooser is to be able to set one browser as my "favorite", and have BC check if that browser already running and automatically open urls in that browser without asking. If my "favorite" browser is not running, then BC would prompt me to select one of the browser choices.

That way, if some program or e-mail link wants to open a web page, I could select IE instead of accidentally launching my 50+-tab multi-hundred-megabyte takes-5-mins-to-get-up browser.

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing the process not dying after it's finished doing its work. Initially upon startup of my laptop (Win 7 x64) the app behaves as expected. When i click on the link it will launch approrpiately and a check of task manager or process explorer shows nothing unusual. However, after some time a will come back to task manager I will notice that I will have tens or hundreds of processes that have remained ghosted. The app still works, but once done it continues with a process (no GUI of course). Even if I kill all using taskkill or individually killing processes - it will still continue spawning a new process each time a click a link.

Any suggestions or anyone else see this?

Browser Chooser only allows specifying the path to a browser - it does not allow any command line arguments, which are required in order to launch different Firefox profiles. This is one of the main reasons I am interested in this program, so until it is implemented, it is not of much use to me.

OK, never mind. Turns out the issue is that Browser Chooser was having problems because I had quotes around the executable paths. Specifying the path unquoted allowed it to accept parameters just fine. Feel free to close this item.

Start menu Web Search is a standard Win7 feature which can be activated via Group policy editor (Start Menu section).
When I use it with my browser, it works.
When I use it with BrowserChooser it crashes with exception.

I do read all the posts and issues, but I don't have the time at the moment to address any of them. The app is open source though so anyone with the skills can submit a patch and I would welcome that.

Really, whats the point ?

I posted some issues here last month, and no one even checked the thread to see whats about

and now i have a extra problem

honestly i am not a developer, but a program like should be "simple" and fast to use, and its the opposite

i installed FF nightly (test building) x64, and the program refuses to open the x64, when it goes to \Program Files\Nightly it says its not there

because it can only open \Program Files (x86\

Please make a less "aero" build of the program, to make ir run faster than opening the browser, and allow the users to open the browser in any pogram folder

Lets see if someone at least comes here to read the issues

I know no one as a "duty" to come here and answer stuff, but if you make a software, at least check the site to see the issues could be nice, at least for a program that has mentions in a lot of cool sites

I unchecked the auto update check and its still slow,

my opinion, have a set of skins and looks, to change from visual effects and aero stuff to a more basic look

my note is old but its good, the only problem is the crappy video board, and eveything that look "aero" or aerolike is slow to open

Hi,

I downloaded the program yesterday, to choose what browser to open links and of course, not allow programs to open webpages...

But sometimes i see the program is slower to open than the browser itself, since it has a lot of aero stuff

So i thing the developers should make the program more customizable, to have options like skins, and versions with less visual effects

and an important (mostly) feature, the program should be able to keep running, minimized to system tray, so it would not open the executable all time i click on a link

I belive that would make it faster, because what i see is that the program is slow to start, because when its already there, its ok (except for the visuals)

The program is good, and its a great thing to choose which browser to open (or not open), but things like that should be there to avoid slowness

Yes, the reason why Excel freezes is because it's trying to access
data located a http://
hence BC takes over and because BC is waiting for a human response
before it can fetch the webquery, and so it gets stuck.

Does anyone know of a way inside Win7 to tell me to only open a
http:// requests in Internet Explorer when inside Excel, and not the
system default being BC?
